I was born in Denmark, land of the vikings. My parents, surprisingly, were not vikings...my mother was an artist and my father a jazz-pianist. I quickly developed a love for the aesthetics of interior decoration...inspired by my mothers everchanging colour scheme in our home and her broad knowledge of art and style. At the age of 6 all my books were arranged by colour and I also chose my own furniture so that it was coordinated with my curtains...the choice of which I spent many hours.
Later I became a flight attendant and my many stops in other countries were used hunting for interior treasures (one of my favourite is a part of an old Indian wedding horse cart).
I lived for 3 years in Barcelona in Spain and 1 year in Paris, France...both places further established my love for interior decorating.
My Scandinavian background combined with my admiration for the French elegance have laid the foundation for my love of what I call the Chateau Chic style: a light & airy interior style with antique accents and a neutral colour scheme mixed with ornate details and a worn but elegant look.
I have taken paint courses and I reupholster furniture...today I use both these skills to give old furniture a new life. Changing an unloved piece of furniture into a beautiful unique item gives me great joy and each piece of reloved furniture I sell have been a dear project of mine. I also love sewing and drawing and at the moment I am designing a new range of bedding, inspired by old antique French bedlinen and lace I have found on my many market visits.
